Turkey, 1987

Back into the XDR/first CD remaster era, and what we have here is the way the contemporary cassette looked in Turkey. As with all Turkish cassettes, they were distributed under licence by local company Kent Electronik, although the cassettes themselves were manufactured and duplicated by another company, called "RAKS" - whose name could be seen on the shrinkwrapping in which these tapes came (we can't show you that though - we just had to unwrap it!) These carried local catalogue numbers beginning TCP, but also contained the EMI international catalogue number on the backflip (in this case, 7 46435 4). As with all post-1987 cassettes elsewhere in the world (except, tellingly, the USA) much of the original sleeve graphics were included inside. On this title however Kent did not see fit to include the Derek Taylor sleeve notes. Turkish cassettes carry numbered labels applied to the tapes themselves, which we presume to be some sort of royalty payment proof - similar to the publisher's stamps that used to be stuck down onto 78 record labels, before the move towards pre-printed seals and later still, a simple printed credit.
